On Wednesday, June 24th, 88.5 WFDD held a special reception for the partner organizations from its Spring 2009 H.E.L.P. campaign. H.E.L.P. (Hunger, Environment, Literacy, and providing a Place to live), was created to demonstrate that in a difficult economy, even small contributions can have a far-reaching impact. WFDD partnered with four area nonprofit organizations serving specific needs to raise awareness and, through the generosity of The Law Offices of Timothy D. Welborn, to provide some additional funds.

The participating nonprofits were The Hunger and Health Coalition in Watauga County; Piedmont Land Conservancy; Buffalo Creek Literacy Project, serving Stokes and Surry Counties; and Habitat for Humanity of Forsyth County, of Watauga County, and of High Point, Archdale, and Trinity.

During WFDD's Spring pledge drive, donors contributing at a certain level had the option to trigger an additional gift to one of four other community organizations, thanks to The Law Offices of Timothy D. Welborn. 100% of the donors' contributions remain with WFDD and provide a significant portion of the station's operating budget. Contributions to the participating nonprofits were awarded by The Law Offices of Timothy D. Welborn at the reception on June 24th.
