Talking Sports with Robert Malekoff

Robert Malekoff studies the business of college sports. He has multiple degrees, and he’s dedicated his life to understanding the role of college sports in our society.

Malekoff recently shared his academic take on sports with WFDD Radio Camper Desmond Cherry.


I talked with Robert Malekoff for a small interview. Robert, who introduced himself as Bob, talked to me about his career and his passion for college sports.

Russian WFDD Radio Camper Interviews Lumbee Tribe American Indian

North Carolina’s Native American history and culture is rich, from the mountains to the coast. One of the tribes that has contributed the most to our heritage is the Lumbee Tribe. This week, WFDD Radio Camper Dasha Panchuk got to learn more about the Lumbee Tribe from StarDancer.

Dasha is from Russia and speaks limited English. She completed Radio Camp (and her interview) with help from fellow campers and a translator app on her smartphone. Her narration is provided here by Radio Camp program assitant Pam Clough.

Greensboro Program Helps Underserved Children With Back to School Essentials

More than 100 students in Greensboro received free school supplies and haircuts last year from the Operation PASS program. The Greensboro Police Department is seeking donations and community partnerships to help meet the growing need this year.

Guilford Co. School Employee Accidentally Releases Student Data

Page High School student data was accidentally shared with a non-Guilford County Schools person last week.

  A Guilford County Schools employee accidentally shared a file containing personal information about more than 450 rising seniors at Page High School last week.  A statement from the school system says the information contained student names, addresses and other data but not  social security numbers.
