WFDD Upcoming Events
Love Month is right around the corner!
February is Love Month, and we want you to stay cozy with our newly hand thrown pottery Love Mugs designed by local artist Pam Taylor. That's right! She's back with new mugs this year and they are gorgeous! We'll post some photos of them soon but for now check out the dates and get them added to your calendar! We hope to see you soon. Join us at a Love Mug stop and if you donate a gift in any amount you'll receive a drip coffee or hot tea on the house thanks to our partner cafes! If you donate $180 or more you'll get to take home your very own Love Mug!

An evening of stargazing, storytelling, and s'mores.
Join us for our annual listening party! Pack a picnic, your lawn chairs, and get ready for a good time. We'll have specially selected (family friendly!) spooky stories curated by our Content Director playing throughout the evening and, of course, s'mores. We'll also be joined by the Forsyth Astronomical Society who will be setting up their high powered telescope and offering guided tours of the night sky. Afterwards, we invite everyone to join as at StoCo Provisions for a chance to warm up and connect with other listeners — best of all, your first drink is on us!
In addition to the complimentary drink at StoCo Provisions that comes with each adult ticket, we are offering two new ticket add-ons: a branded WFDD blanket to keep off the chill and a stainless steel, telescoping reusable roasting stick!
The blanket is a black sweatshirt material that rolls up into an easy to carry bundle and features the WFDD logo embroidered on the flap and will be available as a ticket add-on or on site for $25. The roasting sticks will be available to add to your ticket or on-site for $5. More details can be found on the registration page.
Thank you to our event sponsor Great Outdoor Provision Co. for helping make this year's Look Up and Listen a reality!
2024 Bar Meetups!
We had a wonderful time meeting everyone who made it out to one of our meetups in Boone, Greensboro, Winston-Salem and Lansing this year. It was the perfect time to connect with WFDD team members and friends over a refreshing pint.
We can't wait to see you next year!

Summer Bar Meetups
We loved meeting our listeners for a pint this summer in Greensboro, Boone, and Winston-Salem! Everyone who participated received our special "Radio for thirsty minds" pint glasses, filled with their choice of beverage from the bar. We hope you join us next year!
Listener Expeditions
Explore special and unique locales in our region, guided by expert presenters. Learn something new about the community you call home and maybe make some new friends while you’re at it. Past expeditions have gone on a walking tour of the Hidden Towns Project of Old Salem, visited the Underground Railroad Tree in Greensboro, and explored Vade Mecum Resort in Hanging Rock National Park; learn more here!
Photo of the Year
At the end of every year, we take all of our Photo of the Week winners' photographs and have our community vote for their favorite photos! Thank you to everyone who joined us for our 2022 Photo of the Year reveal. Over 1500 listeners voted and we’re so excited to announce our 2022 Photo of the Year winner, Kevin DeShields! View our Photo of the year and runners-up in our 2022 Photo of the Year gallery, and you can view our 2021 Photo of the Year gallery here.
WFDD's first Poetry Challenge
In April 2022, WFDD issued a poetry challenge to our listeners for National Poetry Month: participants were emailed bi-weekly with poems and prompts to inspire their own writing and were invited to share their poetry with our community! Our inaugural poetry collection is available to read on our site.
