The last day of July means Carolina Summer Music Festival is here once again. Co-director and French hornist Joe Mount says CSMF 2014, presented by The Carolina Chamber Symphony Players, features ten unique programs throughout the month of August. They'll encompass the entire spectrum of chamber music from a Midsummer Night's Swing at Hanesbrands Theatre with the Camel City Jazz Orchestra, to Baroque, Tango, and Ragtime: The Global Eclecticism of Fritz Kreisler an afternoon with violinist Jacqui Carrasco and pianist James Douglas at Reynolda House.

David Ford spoke with Carolina Summer Music Festival Co-director Joe Mount. In full disclosure, his Co-directing colleague is Triad Arts Host/Executive Producer David Ford's wife, professional violinist and Wake Forest University Professor Jacqui Carrasco. The Fest begins Friday morning, August 1st at 11:00 AM with an original adaptation of Rudyard Kipling's classic tale Jungle Book with original movement, dance, puppetry and music by Peppercorn Children's Theatre. On Tuesday, August 26th pianists Peter Kairoff and Louis Goldstein will perform among other works Igor Stravinsky's Rite of Spring for piano four hands at the Piedmont Music Center. There's Star-Spangles Brass, An Evening with Piedmont Opera and much more.
