Dr. Maya Angelou recalls the kind spirit of a South African warrior.

Thousands of people from around the world continue paying last respects to Nelson Mandela. He died last week and his body is lying in state in Pretoria, South Africa. The 95-year-old will be buried Sunday, December 15.

Dr. Maya Angelou first met Mandela in 1960 while she was living in Cairo, Egypt. Recently she spoke with WFDD's Kathryn Mobley and described Mandela as a remarkable friend whose gentleness always amazed her.
