Saturday's Holiday Parade in Greensboro of course means marching bands, floats, fun and crowds.  But it also means some road closures and traffic re-routing.

A number of road closure will be in effect in downtown Greensboro this Saturday December 7 to make way for the annual Holiday Parade.  At 7:00 AM, the formation area for the parade will be closed off. That area is on the northbound lanes of Murrow Boulevard from Lindsay Street to Fisher Avenue, Fisher Avenue to Greene Street, Greene Street to Lindsay Street, and Lindsay Street from Greene Street to Battleground Avenue. During the parade staging, Elm Street and Smith Street will remain open to traffic.

Then, at about 11:00 AM, the streets along the parade route and perimeter will be closed.

The parade will get underway on Greene Street at Lindsay Street, then move south on Greene, left on Market Street, and continue to Church Street, where it will turn right, and proceed along Church to Lindsay Street.  The official end of the parade is in front of the Children's Museum on Church Street at Lindsay Street. bands will turn left on Lindsay, and go to their buses, which will be parked on Battleground Avenue near the starting location of the parade.

Parking will be prohibited on portions of Greene, Market and Church Streets.  Those areas will be indicated by No Parking bags placed on meters. And, the police warn, vehicles parked along the parade route will be towed.
