The International Civil Rights Center and Museum in Greensboro may soon gain a financial boost. It's hoping for $250,000 from taxpayers.

Greensboro city auditors are reviewing financial details from the museum to determine the facility's eligibility for the final part of a forgivable loan from taxpayers. City spokesperson Donnie Turlington told the News & Record the museum turned over its 2014 audit Tuesday. That was a condition for getting the money.

The audit includes the city's cash flow through December.

The chair of the museum's board says several major announcements are coming in the next several weeks involving programming, new exhibits, fund-raising and a strategic plan for the center's continued operation.
