1. MINE COLLAPSE KILLS SCORES IN TURKEY  An explosion and fire at a mine in western Turkey kills at least 166 people and traps hundreds more underground.

2. A POSSIBLE PATH TO PEACE EMERGES IN UKRAINE  The plan outlined calls for all sides to refrain from violence, talks on decentralization, review of the status of the Russian language and amnesty for those involved in the unrest.

3. GOOGLING GETS MORE COMPLICATED  In a landmark ruling, Europe's highest court says people should have control over what pops up when their name is Googled.

4. FBI GETS HUNDREDS OF CALLS ABOUT PEDOPHILE  The bureau says it has been contacted by several hundred people who are either potential victims or want to provide information in the ongoing investigation of a teacher who, before committing suicide, abused dozens of his students.

5. JUDGE STRIKES DOWN IDAHO GAY MARRIAGE BAN  Gay and lesbian couples in Idaho could start getting married as soon as Friday after the state's ban on same-sex marriage was ruled unconstitutional.

6. WHAT PRIME MINISTER IS HEADED FOR PRISON  Israel's Ehud Olmert is sentenced to six years in prison for his role in a bribery scandal, a stunning downfall for a politician who just a few years claimed to be close to reaching a peace deal with the Palestinians.

7. THE TROUBLE WITH AIR BAGS   They don't always deploy as expected. The problem came to light as investigators were looking into the deaths of 13 people who died in crashes involving older GM cars with defective ignition switches. In each of those cases, the air bags failed to deploy.
