Laura Peoples is the Executive Director of Bicycling in Greensboro, an organization that hopes to turn Greensboro into a bike-friendly community.  WFDD Radio Camper Aidan Kelley has more.

It was a warm summer day when Laura and I took a seat on a bench right outside Archdale Hall on Guilford College Campus.  I asked Laura how Bicycling in Greensboro would effect the environment.

So, you have a much smaller carbon footprint when you ride a bike versus driving a car, but a lot of people ride one person to a vehicle, especially when they're going to work or maybe doing a quick errand.

After talking to Laura about the environment I asked her what her future goal is for Bicycling in Greensboro.

So, our goal is to make Greensboro as bike-friendly as possible.  We want to encourage as many people as we can to ride bikes for transportation, for recreation, for fitness, for whatever reason that they want to ride bikes. So, we want protected bike lanes, we want regular bike lanes, we want more greenways and trails, more  mountain bike trails for people to use.
