Meet the Artist: Renowned Flutist Sir James Galway

Triad Arts as Broadcast at 8:35am and 5:44pm

In April 2013, living legend of the flute Sir James Galway performed a concert with the Winston-Salem Symphony. At that time he was just embarking on an innovative online teaching series for aspiring flutists. Sir James spoke with me about his method by phone from his hotel in Boca Raton, Florida.

The symphony’s next concert is Saturday night, February 8th at 7:30 PM with guest pianist Orli Shaham performing Rachmaninoff’s  2nd piano concerto. Sir James’ teaching series for aspiring flutists is now available online. It’s called First Flute, and in it he shares technical advice, personal practice methods, and secrets for success. His annual Flute Festival comes to the U.S. for the first time June 26 - July 1 in Athens, Georgia.
