What I Learned from Crayons and Jump Ropes

When she was 18, Katie Harmon traveled thousands of miles to Costa Rica. She thought she was going to help poor children. But instead she discovered something else.

In 2009, Harmon and some of her high school classmates spent about a week in a small Costa Rican village as a senior class trip. She says the experience exceeded their expectations in that it answered a very important question.
