Leadership Winston-Salem was started in 1984 by local leaders to
increase the understanding of and commitment to the city's future
during a time of significant change. The program is a nine-month
commitment with a structured curriculum in an interactive, experiential
environment. Leaders attend meetings with civic leaders and engage
in problem-based discussions in order to learn more about how the
community works and what its key issues are now and in the future.
