88.5 WFDD Launches New Locally-Produced Public Service, 10 & 2 - the Community Review<
|
Winston-Salem, NC—88.5 WFDD, the NPR® affiliate licensed to Wake Forest University, will launch a new locally-produced public service entitled 10 & 2: the Community Review on Monday, March 1. The module features information about upcoming events, exhibits, concerts, films, and lectures hosted by non-profit organizations and taking place within the station’s 32-county listening area. 10 & 2, airing weekdays at 10:00am and 2:00pm, following NPR® newscasts, provides increased broadcast time for Public Service Announcements (PSAs), a fundamental part of the station’s community outreach. 10 & 2 includes events submitted through the station’s website, wfdd.org.
Denise Franklin, WFDD’s general manager, said that the segment "... deepens our commitment to helping our listeners stay connected to what’s happening in and around our community. It is part of our mission to provide programs and services that keep our listeners informed; in the past, we’ve accomplished that through our online arts and community calendar and through public service announcements." Franklin added that 10 & 2 expands that service and hopes that the segment "will become a primary resource for residents and visitors in the Piedmont Triad and High Country."
Listeners and non-profit organizations can submit items to be considered for inclusion in 10 & 2: The Community Review by visiting www.wfdd.org and clicking on "10 & 2." The first installment of 10 & 2 will air at 10:00am on Monday, March 1.
