StoryLine is a volunteer-led effort to collect the stories of everyday people in Forsyth County. Stories were collected via the StoryLine bus, a mobile recording studio that travels throughout the community. This week: In 1993, Dorothy Johnson was one of the first African Americans to join the Green Street United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem. She describes to Pastor Kelly Carpenter, the current pastor at Green Street United Methodist, the racial prejudice she endured from fellow church members and finding the strength to stay where she was not wanted.

88.5 WFDD, the NPR® news and Triad Arts station broadcasting from Wake Forest University, is the only public radio station of its kind located in the Piedmont Triad. It broadcasts news, information, and public affairs programming covering the arts, people, and institutions in the area from both its Winston-Salem and Greensboro studios.
The state's charter NPR® member, 88.5 WFDD is the longest continuously broadcasting public radio station in North Carolina. It is a member of the North Carolina Public Radio Association.
