This month, WFDD’s Real People Real Stories will feature the work of four Triad high school students. They participated in WFDD’s education program, Radio 101. It inspires confidence, creativity, critical thinking and community engagement while teaching radio journalism skills. Sierra Lee is a senior at James Benson Dudley High School in Greensboro. In his Radio 101 story, Sierra describes a type of modern-day prejudice she struggles to overcome.
Lee hopes to attend Fayetteville State University in the fall as a Journalism major. She produced her story with assistance from WFDD senior producer Kathryn Mobley. Instructors for Radio 101 are Lopa Shah and WFDD’s Kathryn Mobley. The coordinator for WFDD’s education initiative is Greg Keener. Learn more about WFDD’s education initiatives at wfdd-dot-org.
