Real People, Real Stories
Sunday, Feb 12, 2012: Read to Me Grandpa
StoryLine gives voice to everyday people throughout our community as they share the experiences that shape their lives. Bridgett Williams is the Program Coordinator and Tutor with the Winston-Salem YMCA Literacy Initiative. José Rodríguez is one of her students. In the 1980’s, José immigrated from Puerto Rico to the continental US. Then in 2010, he enrolled in the YMCA’s literacy program. In this segment of StoryLine, Jose describes how that decision has changed his life. StoryLine is a project of the Echo Network and is made possible by the generosity of Salemtown, a continuing care retirement community where every life shines and stories are celebrated.
Each week on Real People, Real Stories, 88.5 WFDD brings you the thoughts and perspectives of North Carolinians who are staying connected with the community and the world.
