Greensboro-Based Band Irata Rocks Winston-Salem to Chapel Hill This Weekend

The Greensboro based band Irata started in 2007. At that time they were an instrumental act, fusing ambient textures with progressive, metal leaning rhythms.  After some lineup changes and self-imposed vocal training, they added full time guitar to the mix & brought the heavier aspects of their music to the forefront.

Music Academy of North Carolina Educates Those of All Ages

Music Academy of NC

The Music Academy of NC (MANC) is a nonprofit community music school in Greensboro. Each week the faculty members there guide more than 1,000 students of all ages and ability levels to realize and express their inherent talents. Associate Master Teacher and Dean of Faculty Christy Wisuthseriwong says the majority of MANC’s 40 exceptional faculty has advanced degrees.

Meet the Arts Nonprofit: Arts for Life

Arts For Life supports pediatric patients and families through arts education in four chapters across North Carolina. The nonprofit began here in the Triad back in 2001 at Brenner Children's Hospital in Winston-Salem.

Meet the Artists Behind UNCSA's Dance Concerts: Ming-Lung Yang and Kimberly Bartosik

The University of North Carolina School of the Arts Fall and Spring Dance Concerts provide Triad audiences with a glimpse into the highly professional training that goes on at the school. For the student dancers themselves, it’s an opportunity to approach new works from both an academic and vocational perspective under the collaborative guidance of some of today’s leading dancer/choreographers. Bessie Award-winning performer, NYC based choreographer and UNCSA alumna Kimberly Bartosik was a longtime member of the legendary Merce Cunningham Dance Company.
