Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County Continues Funding the Local Arts

The Arts Council of Winston-Salem and Forsyth County is in the final stretch for their 2013 campaign. So far they’ve reached 83% of their 2.5 million dollar goal to provide funds for the local artists and arts organizations that make the City of Arts and Innovation so unique.

Mount Airy Museum of Regional History Presents "The Luthier's Craft"

The Mount Airy Museum of Regional History is currently showing the exhibit: “The Luthier’s Craft: Instrument Making Traditions of the Blue Ridge.”  In collaborating with renowned regional luthiers such as Wayne Henderson, Audrey Hash Ham, Chris Testerman, and Johnny Gentry, the current exhibit focuses on the history of building three instruments: guitar, banjo, and fiddle.  You can check out the exhibit during the Museum’s regular hours, Monday through Saturday, 10 am to 5pm.

Coming up August 10–December 8, in the Mary and Charlie Babcock Wing Gallery, Reynolda House Museum of American Art presents "Things Wondrous & Humble: American Still Life". The exhibition features some of the finest examples of still life—both traditional and some unexpected approaches—from collections across North Carolina. It’s a bountiful exploration of one of art's most popular genres, and how the everyday objects depicted within it continue to capture our imagination. David Ford spoke with Director of Public Programs Phil Archer.
