James Barnhill

He's always been fascinated with illustrating real things in drawings and paintings. James Barnhill creates riveting bronze statues of people in a range of sizes. And most of his commissioned work is on display across the country. One of his most compelling and most nationally recognized pieces is on the campus of North Carolina A&T State University. It depicts four, civil rights activists who were involved in the Woolworth's lunch counter sit-ins in downtown Greensboro. Barnhill is also an associate professor at the school in the visual and performing arts department.

88.5 WFDD, the NPR® news and Triad Arts station broadcasting from Wake Forest University, is the only public radio station of its kind located in the Piedmont Triad. It broadcasts news, information, and public affairs programming covering the arts, people, and institutions in the area from both its Winston-Salem and Greensboro studios.

The state's charter NPR® member, 88.5 WFDD is the longest continuously broadcasting public radio station in North Carolina. It is a member of the North Carolina Public Radio Association.
