Friday, Jul 31, 2009: Jane and Chad Stephens
The lives of one Triad family is closely interwoven with Africa and hundreds of abandoned orphans. Last week we first introduced you to Chad and Jane Stephens, founders of the Amani Children Foundation amanichildren.org.
Almost 30 years ago hat country allure and beauty united an American doctor and a teacher. Chad volunteered in the Congo. Jane taught English in Kenya.
Eventually they married and Chad professional career as a psychiatrist brought them to the Triad ut Africa kept drawing them back. In 1999 he couple and their four children were living in Kenya. Then one day the simple act of carring for a dying Kenyan infant girl led Chad and Jane to do the unexpected...adopt two babies. But what the Stephens didn't realize was they were about to create a non-profit group he Amani Children Foundation. It would ultimately enable countless Americans to support other abandoned Kenyan orphans at New Life Homes.
Today, we continue our conversation with Chad and Jane Stephens.
