Friday, Mar 26, 2010: Tadeu Coelho
Tadeu Coelho plays the flute and is an internationally accomplished performer and composer. He grew up in Brazil and since the age of seven, he’s transformed complex arrangements into elegant melodies. Now he lives in the Triad and teaches at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts.
Coelho is also founder of Flutes for Honduras, a non-profit that provides donated flutes and piccolos to underprivledged youth in Honduras. Donations are accepted at Calvary Baptist Church on Robinhood and Peace Haven Roads in Winston-Salem, care of John Thompson. Instruments can be dropped off until September 10, 2010.
Plus, our media critic Mary Dalton admires the unconventional style of film maker Spike Lee.
