A High Point business that dates back to the late 1800s recently announced it's changing its business model and leaving its 18-acre facility.

According to a news release, Alderman Company will transition from a commercial photography studio and ad agency to a consulting and strategy firm.

The company was founded by Sidney Alderman in 1898.

President Jeff Williams says the change comes after demand for marketing services has declined since the pandemic.

Employees were made aware of the changes about a week before the news release. The company announced it will work with individuals to help them find new jobs.

Alderman is expected to leave its 225,000-square-foot facility at Model Farm Road by Oct. 31.
