Meg Medina's "Yaqui Delgado Wants to Kick Your Ass" Tackles the Subject of Teen Bullying

Meg Medina is one of the 40 writers to be featured at the Bookmark's 10th Annual Festival of Books and Authors on September 6th.  Her most recent novel, Yaqui Delgado Wants to Kick Your Ass, is this year's recipient of the Pura Belpre award.  The award is presented to a Latino or Latina writer and illustrator whose work best portrays, affirms, and celebrates the latino cultural experience in an outstanding work of literature for children and youth.

The Paper Boy Takes Readers Along a Route of National and Local Stories

The Paper Boy is a compilation of stories set in the early 1940s in the town of Bodenheimer.  Author Elmer L. Allen Jr., who goes by Sonny, will readily admit that Bodenheimer is based on Clemmons, North Carolina.  As a Winston-Salem native, one who grew up in Clemmons, and a former mayor of Salisbury, Allen is well-familiar with the area.
