WFDD's Voices and Viewpoints celebrates 6 years of bringing you personal interviews with Piedmont residents impacting the nation and the world.

This week: Her theatrical career spans more than 60 years, as she has portrayed a range of characters and performed on stages in England and across the United States and on Broadway..

Rosemary Harris is internationally recognized with numerous awards - including a Tony for best actress in The Lion In Winter, two Emmys for outstanding lead actress in a limited series, a Golden Globe for best television actress in a drama, an Obie, and several Drama Desk Awards for outstanding actress in a play. She's also a member of the American Theatre Hall of Fame.

She's also appeared on TV and in film. One of her more popular roles can be seen in the Spiderman Trilogy - she's Aunt May to lead character Peter Parker.

In part two of her conversation with Denise Franklin, Ms. Harris describes how she got her first taste of theatre, performing with stars such as Sir Lawrence olivier and Elizabeth Taylor and her personal appreciation for the North Carolina School of the Arts.

Ms. Harris resides in Winston-Salem with her husband, renowned author John Ehle. Their daughter, Jennifer, is also a successful movie actress.

Her latest stage production is Oscar and the Pink Lady. In part one of her conversation with Denise Franklin, Ms. Harris describes her one-woman show and explains why she's passionate about this project.

This month marks 6 years of WFDD's Voices and Viewpoints bringing you the fascinating stories of our friends and neighbors in the Piedmont.

Co-creator and Host Denise Franklin sits down with area residents who are actively leaving their mark across the country and around the world.

This week: Doug Quin is a global hunter ... of sorts. He travels the world exploring remote areas, sometimes enduring extreme temperatures and personal dangers - and then patiently waiting to capture his target.

His audio recordings have been featured on NPR, German radio, a National Geographic television program, museums, animal habitats and films - including Jurassic Park 3.
