Justin Catanoso
Justin Catanoso enjoys the fruits of being nationally published by Harper Collins - thanks to his distant cousin, a saint. Catanoso has just written the book My Cousin the Saint: A Search for Faith, Family and Miracles.

Catanoso is the executive editor of The Business Journal and provides weekly business reports to 88.5 WFDD. But this week on Voices & Viewpoints, Catanoso gets personal about realizing he’s related to a saint, his brother’s death and struggling to discover his own faith.

On Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008, Catanoso will hold a book signing at Greensboro's Barnes & Noble (Friendly Center) at 7:30 p.m. and on Wednesday, June 4th, 2008, he'll hold a book signing in Winston-Salem at Barnes & Noble (Hanes Mall Blvd. behind Macaroni Grill) at 7 pm.

Jeff Cranfill went from playing in an obscure garage band to touring internationally, managing the production of big name musicians and ministers. This Kernersville entrepreneur is a partner in Special Events Services, a company that provides live production services to groups ranging from Hootie and the Blowfish to the 2006 national tour of the Veggie Tales. He also manages live productions for the ministries of Billy Graham and Joyce Meyer and Joel Osteen. Later this summer, Jeff will travel to Mexico and Taiwan with the Franklin Graham Ministry. Special Events Services, based in Winston-Salem, grosses more than 5 million dollars annually and just opened a new division that designs multi-media production systems for churches.

Plus, in a society where moving from place to place is considered a sign of success ... our commentator Diana Greene discovers sometimes success is achieved by staying put.

A little fresh paint, some new carpet and an expensive lamp or chair - so many of us still struggle in pulling it all together to give our homes a new look.

Mary Dean easily transforms spacious homes around the country with the keen eye of an artist. She is the founder and president of Mary House and Associates and for 24 years, she's been decorating homes for clients across the country. She's now based in Winston-Salem with her husband, Dr. Richard Dean.

Plus, our media critic Mary Dalton says there's something missing from this summer's movies: the feminine touch.

What started as a casual hobby is now drawing international attention to one Triad woman. Linda King is a master winemaker and her recipes have won many awards...she estimates about 500. Now Linda is creating delicious libations at Ragapple Lassie Vineyards and Winery ragapplelassie.

And now she has her own blog site to chat with anyone interested in winemaking.

In our Health & Medicine report, Dr. Mike Adams explains how yellow and green vegetables can help protect you from hardening of the arteries. Dr. Adams is a professor of Pathology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine. He's studied the affect of yellow and green vegetables on arteries in his 30 year research of arteriosclerosis.

Plus, our commentator Diana Greene realizes this Mother's Day is one of several new beginnings.

Emily Wilson Herring is a modern day story teller and she focuses on the lives of 'ordinary women'. She's been published by Beason Press: they put out her book Two Gardeners: Katherine S. White and Elizabeth Lawrence...A Friendship In Letters.

The National Endowment for the Humanities funded her book Hope & Dignity: Older Black Women of the South. This work won the 2006 North Carolina Literary Award for Literature--the highest award presented by our state's governor.

In 2007, the board of the North Carolina Humanities Council awarded Emily the John Tyler Caldwell Laureate, the state's top humanities honor.

Plus, our media critic Mary Dalton explores the tangled relationship between Pop Culture and the Media.
