Rick Darling, President of LF USA, said the Triad is a perfect fit for the company.

 “We know a lot of people in Greensboro, so we do business with a lot of the really good apparel and textile firms that are here and that weighed a lot on us. The people at VF, the people at Hanes Brand, the people at Belk’s stores and the people at Gerber Children’s Wear are all friend of ours and business associates and it means a lot to be in that community. We were right on the money because we hired a fantastic group of people that in a 90 day period of time got trained and went live with their functions much faster than we thought could have taken place,” said Darling.

Darling said access to transportation, quality of life and support from the community also weighed in on the company’s decision to open up a new location in Greensboro.  Besides its North Carolina customers, LF USA also designs, markets and develops products for major retailers in the United States including, Macy’s, Walmart, Coach and Calvin Klein.  

During a celebration at the new center on Grandover Avenue on Monday, several Chinese traditions were observed including the “Dragon Dance”.

Several local and state lawmakers were also on hand to welcome the company to the Triad, including Governor Bev Perdue. Perdue said her administration has worked hard over the past year to help get LF USA in North Carolina.  She said the new partnership is a good example of why education should be the focus for the state’s future.

“They [LF USA] weren’t sure that they could find people that could find people that could do the Dance of the Dragon in Guilford County and we laughed at them and send sure you can. We can do anything in North Carolina and it all starts with education,” said Perdue.

The jobs at the Greensboro office will help support most of the company’s global functions including finance, accounting, human resources and customer service.
