Keith Carter has been sentenced to the maximum allowable punishment under North Carolina law.
Yesterday the 25-year-old was convicted of 2nd degree murder and one count of inciting a riot with a deadly weapon.
On Friday morning Superior Court Judge William Wood handed the 25-year-old Carter a sentence of no less than 202 months (16 years, 10 months) in prison.
WFDD's LeShea Agnew was at the Forsyth County Hall of Justice when the sentencing was read.
