I've driven by this overlook so many times over the 20+ years that I've lived in Boone, but it never appeared so spectacular. I quickly grabbed my camera and captured this very special morning light and view. I call this shot ‘True Blue...Ridge Parkway’. I feel so fortunate to live in such a beautiful place.”

4/28/2023 - “Our 1-year-old ‘Jane Russell’ terrier, Daisy Marmalade, gets carsick so we have to ride with the windows down everywhere we go. We're like the postal service ... "neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night" prevent us from open-air rides in my Mini Cooper. Her red goggles keep the wind out of her eyes, and her puppy car seat raises her enough to lean on her little elbows. Life is never boring with Daisy Marmalade, and my hair's always wild whenever we get where we're going.”
