List of Organizations accepting donations for Hurricane Helene Recovery

Lost Province Community Center, Lansing, NC

  • Lost Province Community Center, in the historic Lansing school, is currently open for donation pickup Monday-Friday from 10a-7p and Saturday from 10a-4p. CJ's Community Market, also inside the school, has non-perishable grocery items available during these hours. These supplies are available to neighbors at no cost thanks to generous donations from all over. They advise to get whatever is needed as this will allow them to continue to receive supplies for the long-term needs of the community.
  • They are still accepting donations Monday-Saturday from 10a-2p. Please contact them at lostprovinceartsevents@gmail.com. Please allow at least 48 hours for them to schedule the appropriate staff to offload your vehicle(s).

Forsyth Humane Society

  • Volunteers are needed to foster pets displaced by the storm. All needed supplies will be provided by the Humane Society.

YMCA of Greensboro

  • Accepting donations of items including baby formula, pet food, bottled water and hygiene supplies. A full list can be found on its Facebook page.
  • Residents are asked to drop off donations at any Greensboro branch locations or at Camp Weaver. 

Second Harvest Food Bank of Northwest North Carolina

  • Hosting a virtual food and fund drive via its website
  • The agency says 10 counties in its service area are facing severe impacts from flooding and power outages, including extensive damage to several local food assistance partners' facilities.

A Simple Gesture Greensboro

  • Hosting a food drive for nonperishable items including peanut butter, granola bars, oatmeal and canned tuna. 
  • Items can be dropped off at seven different locations in Greensboro, five in High Point, and one in Oak Ridge. Addresses can be found here.
