Photo of the Week
About Photo of the Week
Every Friday, WFDD chooses a Photo of the Week from listener submissions to highlight in our newsletter and on social media. These photos depict the best of our local community, showcasing personal milestones and moments of joy, reveling in the curiosities and wonder of nature, and capturing shared experiences though we may be hundreds of miles apart. WFDD’s Photo of the Week is made possible by the creative and talented community members who share their art with us every week.
We host our Photo of the Year every year to celebrate all of our weekly winners and to bring our listeners together for something bigger than ourselves. Through our love of community and beauty, we depict a year’s worth of moments that we can now appreciate as one. These photos have been shared from listeners all over North Carolina and Virginia. Archives of past Photo of the Week winners from 2024, 2023, 2022, and 2021 are all available.
WFDD's Photo of the Week is sponsored by Vivid Metal Prints.

"The head of the Wilburn Ridge Pony Association invited me to ride up to the Scales in his side by side to deliver a roll of hay and check on the ponies. After delivering the hay we found "Blue Eye's" herd and these pregnant mares. They are just two of the wild ponies roaming throughout the Mt Rogers National Recreation Area Federal Park and Grayson Highlands State Park in southwest Virginia."
