WFDD National Poetry Month Challenge

April is National Poetry Month, and to celebrate WFDD is hosting a poetry challenge and reading! Sign up to participate in the poetry challenge by joining our email list. You'll receive biweekly emails with a poem, additional readings, and prompts to inspire your own writing. Emails will go out every Monday and Friday starting on April 3rd. Take on the Poetry Challenge

To celebrate the end of the challenge, we'll host an open mic at the Blowing Rock Art and History Museum! The event will begin at 2 pm on Sunday, May 7th; read a poem you love or one you wrote, and stick around to mingle with fellow writers and WFDD community members over refreshments. We'll have coffee, juice, and a cash bar along with cookies donated by Blue Deer Cookies. RSVP for the event in advance by filling out the web form below.
