Comedian Stephen Colbert is taking a break from shaping his upcoming late-night talk show to deliver Wake Forest University's commencement address. The private Winston-Salem university said Tuesday that Colbert will offer graduating students his thoughts on facing their futures on May 18.

Colbert has given commencement speeches at the University of Virginia in 2013 and his alma mater of Northwestern University in 2011. Wake Forest students last year heard from former New York Times executive editor Jill Abramson a week after her dismissal.

Colbert wrapped up nine years of hosting Comedy Central's "The Colbert Report" in December. He's taking over the "Late Show" on CBS from the retiring David Letterman in September.

Wake Forest's commencement is reserved for graduates and guests, but the school plans to webcast the ceremony live.
