Former Duke men's basketball standout Nolan Smith says Durham policemen pulled guns on him during a traffic stop. Smith described the incident in a series of postings on his Twitter account.
The traffic stop in Durham occurred Wednesday night.
The News and Observer reports Smith wrote he rolled down his window right away to show police he was harmless, but had guns drawn on him.
Officers say they pulled over Smith's Chevrolet Tahoe after trailing it for several blocks near the Duke University campus and stopped it because the window was tinted beyond the state legal limit. Officers issued Smith a warning ticket for a tint violation.
Police said late Thursday afternoon there was no record of a complaint filed and no video from the stop was available.
Smith is back in Durham this week for the annual K Academy college basketball fantasy camp.
