In the French fable "Stone Soup", three starving, weary soldiers trick a group of villagers into adding their own vegetables to the soldier's pot of boiling water and “magic” stones. Replace the soldiers with a group of hungry musicians and you get the delightful musical of In the Soup.

The Greensboro Children's Theatre production of In the Soup, the Stone Soup Musical runs March 15-17 in Odell Auditorium, in the Huggins Performance Center at Greensboro College. Individual main stage tickets are $5-10 online, or you can call the Triad Stage Box Office at 336-272-0160. Greensboro Children's Theatre Director Rosina Whitfield came to the station with actors Autmn Routt, Isabelle Rhoten, Ciara Tolbert, Jake Rogers and McKenzie Hall.

The Greensboro Children's Theatre was created in the 1950s for young people to learn more about theater and themselves. Auditions are held five times a year for students in fourth through ninth grades with lots of behind-the-scenes opportunities including lights, sound, props, set construction, costumes and make-up. In April, Greensboro Children's Theatre brings Short Tales for Children to the Triad, and in May it'll be Puss in Boots.
