New Motion Filed In Greensboro Redistricting Lawsuit

A group has filed to intervene in the lawsuit over proposed Greensboro City Council redistricting.

The News and Record reports the motion was filed by members of the group Concerned Citizens For Fair Elections, which advocates for the redistricting and restructuring of the council passed by the General Assembly in July.

The filing notes that the North Carolina attorney general's office declined to defend the law at the injunction hearing.

City Councilman Mike Barber says the filing lacks merit, and calls it grandstanding.
