The Winston-Salem Police Department says shortly after arriving on the scene, one individual was found suffering from gunshot wounds outside of Hanes Mall. Emergency Services Personnel tended to the victim before moving them to a nearby hospital.

The WSPD Violent Firearms and Investigation Team took over the investigation. It was determined that a “verbal altercation” inside the mall led to the shooting, and the incident was not deemed a random act of violence.

Soon after a suspect was found at 3330 Silas Creek Parkway and apprehended without incident.
