The stock market opened today after a drop on Friday — the Dow and the S&P 500 both fell nearly 2 percent, the NASDAQ composite index fell more than 2 percent — making last week the worst on the stock market since August.
Oil prices also hit a new seven-year low, all as the Federal Reserve is expected to raise short-term interest rates this week.
