As the Piedmont’s Latino population continues to grow, municipalities have been taking steps to increase their bilingual outreach.

In July, the city of Winston-Salem unveiled its first-ever language access plan. Now, Greensboro has launched a Spanish-language podcast.

Talk City Greensboro en Español is hosted by the city's Senior Community Relations Specialist, Isabel Gil.

It's latest guest, Eddi Cabrera Blanco, Guilford County’s communications and public relations manager, discussed the different states of severity for the county’s emergency response plan.

The original Talk City podcast has been in production since 2018 and focuses on highlighting city projects, events and history. According to a press release, the new podcast will do much of the same.

Since its launch in early September, Gil has hosted discussions on the North Carolina Folk Festival, how the city’s 911 dispatch system works and Latin music dance nights.

Talk City Greensboro en Español can be found on YouTube, iTunes, SoundCloud, Google Play and Pandora.
