At a news conference this morning, former GOP rival Ben Carson endorsed Donald Trump, saying he “wants the voice of the people to be heard.” Trump defended comments he’s made about Islam hating the U.S., as well as the violence that some of his supporters have shown against protesters. He blasted the leaders of the party whose nomination he is seeking, saying “the Republican Party has lost its way.”
This week’s 2016 roundtable guests Margaret Talev of Bloomberg News and Domenico Montanaro from NPR join Here & Now‘s Robin Young and Meghna Chakrabarti to discuss Trump, last night’s GOP debate and Wednesday night’s far more contentious debate between Democratic Party candidates Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton.
