A cold front is moving through parts of North Carolina, and it will likely bring rain, snow and possibly freezing rain.
The front is expected to arrive in the Triad around midnight Tuesday.
James Morrow is with The National Weather Service in Raleigh. He says the wintry mix will become all snow across portions of the region about 1 a.m. and continue until around noon on Wednesday.
“When all's said and done we're expecting anywhere from 1 to 3 inches of snow, with some locally higher amounts mainly east of the Triad in the Triangle regions of North Carolina, and lesser amounts as you actually approach the mountains.”
Morrow says to expect hazardous travel conditions Wednesday morning and recommends staying off the roads if possible.
