Cone Health is opening a new heart and vascular center in Greensboro to provide comprehensive care for patients.
According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, heart disease is the leading cause of death for men, women and people of most racial groups in America.
The Steven D. Bell Family Heart & Vascular Center aims to provide all needed services under one roof, including testing, doctor's appointments and picking up medicine.
Dr. Jake Hochrein, a cardiologist with Cone Health, says the center will increase accessibility and help people be more proactive with their health.
"While we're here to take care of the patient when they develop the problem — we want to fix their heart disease when they have it — we're really using this space to change the paradigm, to just kind of put it on its head and prevent the disease in the first place," he says.
The center is expected to treat around 120,000 patients every year. It opens on April 28.
