A cosmetics and personal care products manufacturer is set to invest nearly $8.5 million in High Point.

Cosmetics & Cleaners International, also known as C&C Industries, is headquartered in Florida just outside of Miami. Its new North Carolina facility is expected to create just over 100 jobs, including chemists, line workers, quality assurance technicians and others.

Among the leading reasons cited for the expansion were High Point’s available distribution network, with easy access to markets along the East Coast, and the region’s available workforce.

High Point Economic Development Director Peter Bishop says he’s excited to see a company like this one invest here.

"The more that you attract, the more that are attracted to you," says Bishop. "We’ve got a very strong manufacturing heritage, a lot of aviation, a lot of furniture, a lot of automotive. But maybe not as much on the life sciences side. So, having a company like this locate here sort of adds to the bonafides of the Triad region vis-à-vis say RTP for example."

C&C will be located in the East Green Drive and Brentwood community. Bishop says it’s a group of census tracts that tend to lag behind the city in median family income and employment. He adds that this area has been targeted by the High Point City Council for further development with additional incentives provided to encourage investment and job creation.
