How often are you approached by a person in public with a clipboard? I’m sure many of us can say it’s happened to us a time or two.

They usually want your support – in the form of a signature. You may sign it, or you may not. But what if that person told you your signature meant you could win $1 million. Would that change your response?

Elon Musk is finding out. The billionaire’s super PAC, “America PAC,” is asking registered voters to sign a petition in favor of free speech and the right to bear arms. And he has pledged that every day until election day on Nov. 5 one of those signatories will win a million dollars.

Saturday, the first winner was named. While not as appealing as the one million dollars, if you do sign the petition and refer another voter to sign it too, you both get 47 dollars. If you’re a Pennsylvania voter, you get double that.

Is it too good to be true? Is it even legal? We talk about it.
