A former manager at Hanesbrands is suing the company for $1 million. Kathleen Fowler is seeking damages as part of an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission complaint.
Fowler is accusing the company of permitting discrimination, sexual harassment including vulgar language and retaliation by a supervisor.
The Winston-Salem Journal reports Fowler says she experienced “anxiety and emotional trauma” caused by her supervisor, Jason Feldman. The complaint says Feldman intimidated female employees with crude and sexually charged language.
She also alleges Hanesbrands allowed Feldman's behavior to continue.
Fowler took her case to the EEOC in October of 2014, about a month after she was terminated from the company. She says her firing was a direct result of her complaints against Feldman.
He resigned in February of 2015.
