Former North Carolina Gov. Pat McCrory says he's not quite ready to declare whether his future includes another bid for office.
McCrory said Wednesday on his Charlotte radio program he's going to take his time this year examining whether to run for governor in 2020. He says the U.S. Senate in 2022 is also possible.
The 62-year-old Republican suggested in a 2017 interview he would make a gubernatorial decision after last November's elections, but McCrory says now is too soon.
McCrory has run for governor three times. He won in 2012 and served one term before losing to Democrat Roy Cooper in 2016. He also lost to Democrat Beverly Perdue in 2008. McCrory's term was marked by tax cuts and a "bathroom bill" he signed into law.
