Hillary Clinton this morning rode the New York City subway– using a Metrocard — a jab against her rival Bernie Sanders.

The trip took place after the New York Daily News published an interview with Sanders, in which he said tokens are still used on the subway. The rhetoric between the two candidates is heating up, with each candidate casting doubt about the other’s qualifications to be president.

Clinton and Sanders debate next week ahead of the New York Primary.

Here & Now’s Robin Young speaks with NPR’s Lead Politics Editor Domenico Montanaro about the Clinton-Sanders battle.
