Doctors in Cleveland this week introduced the first woman in the U.S. to receive a uterus transplant: a 26-year-old who was born without a uterus, and who has long wanted to carry her own child.
Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson talks with Leah Samuel, a reporter with STAT, about how the successful transplant is giving hope to transgender women, who also dream of being able to get pregnant and have babies of their own.
