Record floodwaters from the Mississippi River and its tributaries are continuing to stream through parts of Missouri and Illinois. The rain has stopped and the waters are starting to recede along the Meramac River, but the waters continue to rise in some places. Floods are still expected to hit towns like Memphis, Tennessee; Paducah, Kentucky and Little Rock, Arkansas.

Doug Moore has been covering the flooding for the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. He speaks with Here & Now’s Peter O’Dowd about the latest.

Then, Here & Now’s Robin Young talks to the mayor of Eureka, Missouri, Kevin Coffey, about how his town has been affected by the flooding, and what they’re thinking about going forward.
