Great Outdoor Adventures In The WFDD Listening Area

UPDATE MONDAY, MARCH 23, 2020: Hanging Rock State Park is among four North Carolina state parks that have closed because of coronavirus concerns. North Carolina State Parks officials released a statement saying that continued crowding at the parks doesn't adhere to social distancing guidelines.

Feeling a little stir crazy and looking for a great place to venture out, while still staying socially distanced? There are many local options, and WFDD's Sonsera Kiger has created a list of places that have inspired her, right here in our listening area.

Did you know that there is a tree in this park that's estimated to be more than 500 years old?! Check it out at 5600 Balsom Rd, Pfafftown, NC 27040.

For a short jaunt outside, try the Bethania trailhead. It starts behind the old mill in downtown Bethania.

There might just be some violets on your path!

Not feeling the park scene? Maybe you can head out, and create your own path!
