Guilford County is soliciting community input to help shape the future of its public parks.

The county is hosting two meetings next month as it develops its next Parks, Trails, and Open Space Comprehensive Master Plan.

The plan is designed to provide a vision for the county’s recreational needs for the next decade. Officials say it will take into account a variety of interests beyond just parks, including athletic fields, aquatic centers, camping and fishing.

Members of the public are invited to share their ideas on Tuesday, February 6, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Guilford County Department of Social Services or on Wednesday, February 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Northeast Park.

Guilford County Parks has held six similar meetings since launching its community engagement efforts last October. The plan is expected to be completed by late this year.
